With a deep voice and a penchant for talking too much, a career as a radio newsreader seemed the perfect choice. So off I went to study journalism and hit the airwaves.
Two years of this type of work taught me to be pointed with words and to know your audience, but there’s not a lot of room for creativity in the news (or at least, there wasn’t at the time).
So, in 2011, I made the switch to copywriting.
Since then I have worked for a slew of agencies in both Sydney and London. These postings have been a mix of full-time and freelance roles, starting as a Junior Copywriter, and now Senior Copywriter and Creative Lead positions.
My work has been found on TV, radio, print and online, and has covered everything from retail, direct marketing and digital campaign work, to local and international launches for some of the world’s biggest brands. Plus, I can be heard on countless voice-overs for agency hype-reels and pitch videos.
2020 saw me make the now widely-considered-terrible decision to move to New York City. I survived so far, though mostly in sweat-pants.
As 2021 rolls on I’m still here, still grinding, and still seeking integrated agencies full of clever people with whom to make some great work, and hopefully step up to Creative Group Head and Associate Creative Director positions.
And while I'm at it, I'll totally do your guide reads… provided you don’t mind the Aussie accent!
So if you’re after a Senior Copywriter or Associate Creative Director, get in touch.
